About Us
Synergy Behavioral Health Group is synonymous with whole health. We are centered on the value that people require and deserve individualized treatment plans. We work closely with other professionals (medical, spiritual, educational, emotional and behavioral) involved in our clients’ lives to develop and implement these individualized treatment plans. By interweaving a multitude of intervention strategies, we establish a comfortable level of whole health with our clients. Once this is achieved, we will work together to improve upon, and maintain, this level of wellbeing for a lifetime.

Ultimately, we are all… Better Together.
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life."

- John Lennon

How We Help
Client Centered Therapy
Developed by humanist psychologist Carl Rogers, Client Centered Therapy emphasizes the importance of unconditional positive regard by the therapist toward the client. Intense listening and reflection are at the center of this work.
Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
TF-CBT is a form of psychotherapy based on the principle that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, more than external forces like people, situations and events. By helping the client become aware of inaccurate negative thinking, TF-CBT allows the client to clearly view challenging situations and respond to them in an effective way. It can be used in the treatment of depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem. TF-CBT is especially effective in helping anyone learn how to better manage the stress in his or her life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
What is EMDR?

When a person is very upset, their brain cannot process information as it normally does. One moment becomes ‘frozen in time’, and remembering a trauma, whether big or small, can feel as bad as going through it the first time. Such memories have a lasting negative effect that interferes with the way a person sees the world, and the way they relate to other people. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a non-drug, non-hypnosis psychotherapy procedure. The therapist guides the client in concentrating on a troubling memory or emotion while moving the eyes rapidly back and forth (by following the therapist’s fingers). This rapid eye movement, which occurs naturally during dreaming, speeds the client’s movement through the healing process. The upsetting emotion or memory often fades into the past and loses its power.
Relational Therapy
In Relational Therapy we guide partners in how to become more observant of, and sensitive to, each other. By becoming more insightful about themselves and their partner, our clients can change the reactions within the relationship that maintain negative behavior patterns. This creates new interactions that will lead to a greater and more loving bond in the relationship.
Emotional Freedom Therapy
EFT (also known as Tapping or EFT Tapping), is a universal healing tool that can provide impressive results for physical, emotional and performance issues. In all the areas of your life that need improvement, there are unresolved emotional issues in the way. Whether it is physical issues, chronic pain, or diagnosed conditions, emotional stress can impede the natural healing potential of the human body.

Structural Family Therapy
Structural Family Therapy is a strength-based, outcome-oriented treatment built on the principle that our relations with others influence our behaviors. The structural therapist focuses on what is taking place among families, rather than focusing on individual psyches. A well-functioning family is not defined by the absence of stress or conflict, but rather by how effectively the family handles this stress or conflict. The role of the structural family therapist is to locate and mobilize strengths, helping the family best utilize its resources, and outgrow constraining patterns of interaction.
Strategic Family Therapy
Strategic Family Therapy is a family-based intervention aimed at preventing and treating behavior problems, including mild substance abuse, in children and adolescents. Strategic Family Therapy is based on the fundamental assumption that adaptive family interactions play a pivotal role in protecting children from negative influences. Maladaptive family interaction can contribute to the evolution of behavior problems; and therefore, it is a primary target for intervention. The goal of Strategic Family Therapy is to improve the youth’s behavior by improving family interactions that are directly related to the child’s symptoms.
